Myles, a word of thanks. You have performed admirably as my Life Coach for a little over a year. Yes, the road has been difficult to navigate at times, and it was made especially demanding because we had to create the map as we went. There were trials and tribulations, disappointments and setbacks, but I must say, your ability to keep me focused on the first of many goals has been the key to the culmination of my labors.
The first step was taken early on, and you were there, not only to witness that step, but steadied and guided me to ensure my success. I feel as though there have been many steps to this juncture, and at times, I was reluctant to move forward, but gentle nudges and sometimes outright kicks to the metaphoric britches, and over a year later, here I am, the first big ‘pay-off’.
I can only express the elation I am feeling by sharing an experience from my youth.
Almost thirty years ago, I found myself on an air base, along with my squad, locked and loaded, full field gear, and preparing to be dropped in some little dot on the atlas, called Grenada.
When my squad asked me what we were going to do, I tried my best, with a wavering voice, to remain tough, telling my squad it was ‘time to earn our keep’.
“Get serious!” They exclaimed. “What are we gonna do?”
“I can only tell you this.” I said to them, with absolute determination. “I’m coming home.”
Since then, I have spent most of my adult life in a career that keeps me away from home for undeterminable periods of time; a career I loathe with a passion beyond compare.
I was finally able to repeat these words to the most important person in my life. After working with you, toward my first major target, the hard work paid off and I told my wife yesterday, “I’m coming home.”
The pay-off to which I am referring is the beginning of a completely new career; a starting point for future plans and goals.
Myles, thank you for believing in me, even when I didn’t. Your assistance has aided me in securing a bright new future, with plans of working with you in realizing accomplishments that I am now confident I can achieve.
You have always been an inspiration to me. You know the times. And I’ve tried to give them back to you. Thank you for the consultation recently. The areas and things you said I need to improve upon I am working into my daily grid. You also gave me something no other coach has ever given me, and that was the positive reinforcement of the things I am doing RIGHT. I don’t have to tell you that the areas where an individual is succeeding in life need to be recognized as well and do zero in on them first, which is very affirmative.
Myles, I am so happy you found Personal Coaching as a way to give out the good I have always known is in you and reach your potential best. Don’t ever stop doing what you are doing, regardless!!
Myles is one of the most caring and compassionate people I know. With his wide range of life experiences, he is understanding of others in a way we all wish to be. Myles is an excellent listener and will no doubt help you get to the root of what’s bothering you and/or help you take your life to the next level. Myles is a refreshing example of someone who listens at the deepest level and then helps you figure out how to change your life for the better. I recommend Myles Smith as a life coach to anyone looking for help in making their dreams a reality. Cheers to life!
